Beggar toby jug produced by Wedgwood & Company of Tunstall, England, circa 1950 using its Unicorn tradename. A beggar is a poor person, often homeless, who asks others, or begs, for money or food. "Tinker, Tailor" is a counting game, nursery rhyme and fortune telling song traditionally played in England. It is commonly used by children for "counting out", e.g. for choosing who shall be "It" in a game of tag. The verse is: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, Rich Man, Poor Man, Beggar Man, Thief.
