Bacchus small character jug by Ralph Wood produced circa 1790. Bacchus is the Roman god of wine and intoxication. Around 200 BCE the Bacchanalia annual festival was held in his honor featuring excessive drinking orgies and criminal behavior. This small size Bacchus jug is very rare.
