Baby in Cabbage majolica bank produced by Orchies of Orchies, France, circa 1910. An old and popular French fairy tale asserts that baby boys are born in cabbages and baby girls are born in roses. This bank jug shows a cute newborn baby boy emerging from a cabbage. There is a slot on top of the baby's head for inserting coins. Orchies model numbers are a combination of letters and numbers. The letters are an abbreviation for the name of the jug and the number is the size of the jug.
