American Indian character jug produced by Southern Potteries of Erwin, Tennessee, circa 1940 with its Blue Ridge Pottery tradename. Typically, indigenous peoples of Canada and United States, Native American Indians are members of any of the aboriginal peoples of the Western Hemisphere, although the term often connotes only those groups whose original territories were in present-day Canada and the United States. A tomahawk forms the handle of the jug. This same model was produced by the Clinchfield Artware Pottery.
