Aladdin's Genie character jug yellow flambé - Royal Doulton 1994

Aladdin's Genie character jug in a yellow flambé finish colorway modeled by David B. Biggs and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 1994. This mysterious character comes originally from Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, one of many tales told in the Arabian Nights. Aladdin, a poor tailor's son, is tricked by a wicked magician into fetching a treasure from within a mountain. The treasure is an old lamp that houses the mystical genie. Double-crossing the magician, Aladdin keeps the lamp and uses the genie's power to rise to wealth and fame. A lamp, ghost and tassel form the handle of this jug.
