Hamish the Younger handle-less toby jug produced by Quality Enterprises of Prestwick, Scotland, circa 1985. Hamish is a Scottish masculine given name. It is the anglicized form of the vocative case of the Gaelic name Seamus or Sheumais. It is, therefore, the equivalent of James. Here is a young Hamish sitting on a rock and dressed in full Highland dress, the traditional national garb of Scotland. The Highland dress is highlighted by the tartan kilt, a knee-length skirt-like garment that is worn by men, the plaid, the rectangular length of tartan cloth worn over the left shoulder, and the sporran, the ornately decorated pouch that hangs down the front. Note the round shield resting at Hamish's left side.  Hamish the Younger stands 6 3/4" tall.
